Jimma coffee region is located in the Jimma Zone of the Oromia region of Ethiopia. This are experiences a tropical upland climate with high rainfall. The area is known for its high potential for coffee yields with a total land area of 1.1 milion hectars o.1 million of wihich is dedicated to coffee cultivation. Coffee is cultivated in coffee gardens intercropped with other food crops and is a vital commodity for young farmers in a region.
